How to Add Lessons to the Curriculum

In the Curriculum section of your customer portal, you can add lessons to provide content for members to access when they're not at your facility. These lessons could be at-home workouts or tutorials to practice before class. When you go in to add your lessons, each lesson will be assigned to a section within a larger category. How you organize your curriculum section is highly customizable, however, it's a good idea to start building out your curriculum by first building Categories, then Sections, and then Lessons.

Once you are ready to start adding in your lessons, click on the Customer Portal icon and then select Lessons under the Curriculum section.

The Lessons page is where you can view and edit all of your lessons.

To create a new lesson, click on the Create Lesson button.

To create your new lesson, you will need to give it a title in the Name field.

Next, you will need to choose a section for the lesson to go in from the Select Section field.

In the Lesson Description box, you can either provide a brief description if you are uploading a document, or you can use this space to add in the content for your lesson.

Clicking the + button under lesson thumbnail will allow you to upload a thumbnail for the lesson.

To embed a video within your lesson, click on the Play button in the Lesson Description editor.

You will first need to retrieve the embed code for your video and then click on the Embed option from the pop-up. Copy and paste the video's embed code into the embed field.

Make sure to click on the Save button to save your embedded content.

To upload a pdf or document containing the main content of your lesson, click on the + button under the Documents section. Students will be able to open and view this file from within the lesson.

Once you have finished adding all of the details for your lesson, click on the blue Create button.

After creating your lesson, you are able to go back in and add Permissions to control who can view this section.

To reopen the lesson you just created, click on the name of the lesson.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Edit Lesson page to find the Permissions section. This is where you can specify which students have access to view this section.

In the Select Rosters field, you can choose from your existing rosters and only students on the rosters that you pick will have access.

In the Select Ranks field, you can choose specific ranks from any of your styles and only students who actively have that rank can view this section.

If you don’t want any restrictions on who can access this content, leave these fields blank.

Once you are done editing the permissions, click the Save button in the top right corner.

When students access the curriculum section of your member app, they will first need to tap on a category and then a section. Once they've opened a section, they will be able to see all of the lessons within that section. To open a lesson, tap on it.

On the lesson page, students will be able to see the lesson description and any documents you have attached.

To view the attached documents, students can tap on the name of the download to open it in the app.
